Security Officers Clayton Reyes and Cody Yager were recently recognized for their outstanding response to a critical safety incident near Railroad Mile 189.2, close to Willow, Alaska.
While on duty, Reyes and Yager were alerted to a near-miss situation involving thirteen individuals on active railroad tracks — just minutes before a train was scheduled to pass through. With extremely limited access to the area, they navigated difficult terrain and worked quickly to coordinate with railroad dispatch. Their swift response and calm under pressure allowed them to safely intercept the group and clear the tracks in time.
Their decisive leadership and commitment to safety almost certainly prevented what could have been a devastating outcome.
