In a remarkable display of skill, teamwork, and quick thinking, a group of NMS employees, along with other North Slope employees at Hilcorp’s Prudhoe Bay Operations Center (PBOC), helped save someone’s life last November. Their fast response, including administering CPR and using an AED, made all the difference in reviving an individual in cardiac arrest.
On March 25, 2025, the American Red Cross of Alaska recognized these efforts at its 25th Annual Real Heroes Awards in Anchorage. NMS employees Jesse Aldous, Mark Byrum, Ryan McClure, Diane Dahlheimer, Richard Rifley, and Jason Reed were honored for their decisive actions in a critical situation that ultimately saved a life. Their teamwork and calm under pressure made all the difference, and they were recognized for their exceptional response during this life-saving event.
“It was truly a team effort that saved a life,” said Myron Fanning. “The victim was at the awards ceremony and hugged each NMS employee who contributed to saving his life. Outstanding and quick responses by all!”
This recognition is a testament to our NMS employees’ dedication, training, and composure. Their actions not only demonstrated our commitment to safety but also embodied the core values of NMS. We are incredibly proud and grateful for their heroism.
