We’re excited to share that Mark Joyce has stepped into the role of FFM’s Director of Education Food Services, bringing a wealth of experience, strong leadership, and a passion for service.
Mark offers more than 30 years of senior leadership experience across K-12 and higher education, as well as complex, multi-site and remote operations. Since joining NMS in 2024, he has led 26 remote village school sites and recently expanded his responsibilities to oversee logistics, staffing, training, and supply chain operations across western Alaska.
His steady leadership and focus on operational excellence make him well-suited to guide our Education Food Services program.
A native of Pittsburgh (Go Steelers!), Mark served 22 years in the United States Marine Corps and has seen the sun rise and set in 31 countries throughout his career. Since joining NMS—starting as Fleet Services Manager in Juneau—he has quickly made an impact, taking over the LKSD account, advancing to Area Manager, and now stepping into this director role.
One of his most memorable moments was coordinating with the Alaska National Guard to deliver emergency food supplies by helicopter to villages affected by a typhoon—reflecting his commitment to supporting communities when it matters most.
Outside of work, Mark enjoys hunting, fishing, scuba diving, biking, and exploring Alaska’s most remote areas.
Please join us in congratulating Mark on this well-deserved promotion.
