Division: HSSE
Craig Clemens began his career in 1997 as a North Slope security officer with Purcell Security which later became the NMS Security Division. He was soon in a senior management role until 2009, when he became the NMS Vice President of Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE).
As VP, he defined a strategic direction by developing operating policies and procedures and continuously improving NMS’ safety performance. Through his years with the company, he established a “culture of safety” by initiating training programs and in selecting and implementing the safety tracking program – NANA Safetrax.
When asked about Clemens, Eric Fox, VP of Security, said, “Craig is nothing short of brilliant. I’ve seen him evolve from a security expert to an HSE expert over the years. He has been the only HSE executive NMS has ever had. He built that department from the ground up and turned our company into an award-winning company with HSE excellence.”
Craig has a reputation for mentoring employees and encouraging their careers with NMS as well. Tommy Neil, who has worked with Craig for 16 years, said, “Through Craig’s leadership, the NMS safety team has grown into a world-class organization that supports NMS Core Values. Craig has always supported my individual professional development and has been a great mentor, leader, and friend. He is one of the first to congratulate you on your achievements and has been an advocate for the advancement of the safety culture
within NMS.”
Kurt Huesmann, HSE Manager said, “NMS would not have the stellar safety team it has now without Craig being at the helm and providing world class safety resources for a very diverse company. NMS has benefitted greatly from the time Craig started as a security officer to his time as Security Captain and now in his role as VP of Safety. His time with NMS defines our NMS Core Value of Fulfilling our Commitments.”
Thank you, Craig, for your fantastic service to this company and your many years of dedication. Congratulations on 45 years!
