Tate “Anaruaq” Chesley, born in Kotzebue, has called Alaska home his entire life. He began his NMS journey at just 19 in Security, launching a career defined by perseverance and purpose. Tate spent nearly three decades on the North Slope—at Prudhoe Bay, Endicott, and Alpine—serving as officer, lead, and supervisor, and earning a reputation as a trusted leader.
“Tate was a true professional security officer and supervisor,” shared Myron Fanning. “I can’t thank him enough for his 35 years of service to NMS and the Security Division.”
In 2023, Tate transitioned into his current role as Safety Supervisor, bringing field experience and a people-first approach to the Health, Safety, Security and Environmental (HSSE) team. He now oversees daily operations for the Anchorage Safety Team, supporting employees across Alaska and the Lower 48. A certified EMT-3 for 30 years, Tate continues to step in to help employees whenever needed.
With a strong team behind him, Tate is energized for what’s next and focused on making an impact by continuing to improve the company safety record.
Outside work, Tate enjoys staying active, hiking Alaska’s landscapes, and spending time with his family—including his daughter who also works for NMS, continuing a legacy of service across generations. His story is one of dedication, resilience, and heart, inspiring those around him every day.
“Tate’s 35 years with NMS reflect his professionalism, dedication, and genuine commitment to the company’s mission and reputation,” said Jeremy Wagner. “He has consistently demonstrated a strong work ethic and pride in the quality of service we deliver. His contributions have made a lasting impact on the organization.”
