NMS recently hired Brad Harris as the executive chef for MUSE at the Anchorage Museum. Brad is formally trained in traditional French cuisine and specializes in modern American and Italian cuisines. His experience spans 16 years of preparing food professionally, but his love for cooking dates back to his childhood, when a friend’s Lebanese grandmother invited him to a family dinner – an experience that immediately sparked Brad’s passion for flavors that are unfamiliar to the palate.
After serving in executive chef roles in various states throughout the U.S., Brad pursued his love for adventure to Alaska, where he joined the Nenana View Bar & Grille near Denali National Park and Preserve as chef de cuisine. Most recently, Brad served as executive chef at the Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge, where he designed menus featuring locally sourced farm products in a fine-dining atmosphere.
Given his love for distinctive flavors and the Alaska outdoors, Brad is excited to join the NMS team. “MUSE is a unique restaurant in that it resides in a museum, which naturally provides an upscale yet inviting dining experience,” he said. “I hope to elevate the menu with modern, creative flavors and artistic plating for our restaurant patrons and catered events. I’m already getting started.”
