Chief Information Officer, Commercial Sector
Sandy Halliwill, chief information officer for the NANA Development Corporation Commercial Sector, develops and implements strategies for information technology, ensuring that IT employees as well as hardware, software and data management operations are working efficiently to meet company goals. In addition to staff development, her leadership functions include competency and performance management.
Sandy brings more than 15 years of IT experience for companies such as BP Exploration, Ukpeagvik Inupiat Corporation and Koniag, Inc. Representative areas of expertise are information technology, accounting, human resources, internal audit, project management, procurement and supply chain management.
Sandy has improved organizational effectiveness, reduced costs, eliminated waste and managed risks. Her achievements include acquisition and deployment of new systems, reductions of IT operating budgets, increased quality of IT services and staff development through training and motivation.
In addition to holding a bachelor’s degree in business administration and management from Alaska Pacific University and an associate of applied science degree in computer science from University of Alaska Anchorage, Sandy has completed many professional development programs related to business management and leadership. She is a member of the Anchorage Economic Development Council and Sigma Beta Delta, an international honor society recognizing achievement in business, management, and administration.
