Vice President of Marketing & Communications
As vice president of marketing and communications, Dawn Kimberlin provides strategic direction for marketing and communications for NMS and its five operating divisions. She is responsible for brand management, marketing, public relations and community outreach programs.
Dawn started with NMS as director of marketing, lodging division, in 2009, and moved to director of marketing, food and facilities management division. Most recently she served as director of marketing and communications for the company, managing strategic projects across NMS’ five divisions. Dawn has developed marketing strategies, action plans, and programs, as well as promotions and collateral. Her responsibilities have included creating and managing budgets supporting marketing and revenue goals.
Bringing 20 years of professional experience, Dawn has worked for Alaska Native corporations, the private sector, and both for-profit and non-profit Alaskan organizations. She began her marketing communications career at NANA Development Corporation in 1999 and worked as an account manager at an advertising agency, community relations manager at CIRI and public relations manager at the Alaska SeaLife Center.
Dawn earned an MBA from Alaska Pacific University and BA in psychology from the University of Texas at San Antonio. In 2012, she received a Native American 40 Under 40 Award from the National Center for American Indian Enterprise Development. She is a former Rotary exchange student to Denmark and a shareholder of NANA Regional Corporation, Inc. and Doyon Limited.
